An Aspire Award-Winning Competition

The Aspire Awards, presented during the Show Choir National Finals are the show choir industry's top awards for professionals working in, and contributing to, the advancement of show choir.  These 11 categories recognize individual excellence in the areas of directing, choreography, costuming, arranging, regional competition and lifetime achievement as well as excellence by an industry professional and school in the areas of service. Nominees are voted on by peers, making them truly an award for the industry, by the industry.

Sioux City East is honored to have been nominated - in 2017, 2018, and 2019 - for the FAME Aspire Award for Best Regional Competition. We were thrilled to be named the recipients of this award in 2019! Thanks to all our students, parents, and guests who made this possible.

Our goal is to provide students, directors, and guests with the best and most educational experience possible. Our sincere thanks to our guests for spending their day at "Sing All About It!" and to FAME for their nomination!

The Headliners:

Now in its 35th year, The Headliners have received more than 50 Grand Champion awards and innumerable captions for Best Vocals, Best Choreography, and Best Band.  In 2010, they were recognized by Parade Magazine as one of America’s Favorite Show Choirs (top 3), and in 2011, were featured in choreographer Mike Weaver’s book, Sweat, Tears, and Jazz Hands: The Official History of Show Choir from Vaudeville to Glee.  In 2016, The Headliners were recognized as the “Most Decorated” Show Choir in Iowa and placed 8th at Show Choir Nationals in Nashville in 2019. Join us for this year’s show, “A Night at the Marquee.”

Prestige:

Prestige is the treble show choir at East High School. This auditioned group has 68 singers accompanied by a 13-member band and 3 member crew. Prestige has won many division awards in their four year existence. This year’s competition show brings us a new version of Little Red with life changing encounters in the forest and the anticipation of Grandma accepting her transformation.

Entourage:

Entourage is entering its 4th year of competition. The group has 18 tenor and bass singer-dancers from grades 9-12. They also have their band, Encore, which has 16 members as well as 5 tech crew. Entourage is excited to showcase this year’s show, “Kings of the Course!”
